Jason Trott
Jason Trott is a Malta-based technical and rebreather instructor with 500+ hours on the Hollis Prism2 and thousands of dives. Diving since 2007 and Tec-qualified from age 18, he now teaches PADI Tec50 and PADI CCR40 on the Prism2 (CCR60 coming soon), using Malta’s wrecks from 5–120 m for progressive, real-world training. His background in IT and university teaching means clear briefings, methodical skills coaching and structured debriefs.
Why dive with Jason?
Deep Prism2 experience: 500+ hours on the Hollis Prism2, focused on wreck and tech profiles. Multiple 100m+ dives completed on his unit.
Calm, safety-first coaching: strong emphasis on margins, bailout planning and team behaviour.
Malta wreck specialist: regular training on a range of wrecks, from shallow skills sites to serious deep dives.

Why train in Malta with Jason?
Ideal environment for technical and CCR training
Malta is one of Europe’s best locations for technical and rebreather diving:
- Depth progression from 5–120 m within a short boat ride or shore entry
- Excellent visibility and defined wreck structures for skills and navigation
- Year-round diving with a long season for comfortable training
- Easy travel from the UK and mainland Europe
For a closer look at the wrecks and depth ranges available, see Malta wreck dive sites.
Small groups and serious coaching
Jason typically teaches 1–2 students per course, which means:

- More in-water time and personal feedback
- Space to work on realistic skills and decision-making
- Courses paced to your real experience, not just minimum standards

PADI Tec courses on open circuit
Not everyone wants to go straight onto a rebreather. Open circuit Tec is still an excellent route if you want to:
- Build experience with deco procedures, gas planning and wreck protocols
- Prepare for future CCR training with solid foundations
- Dive classic Malta wrecks in the 30–50 m range and beyond
At diveprism2.eu you can progress through:
- PADI Tec 40 – Your first steps into staged decompression and extended range
- PADI Tec 45 and Tec 50 – More complex deco, deeper wrecks and higher task loading
- PADI Tec Trimix – For extended, helium-based dives beyond standard Tec limits
All Tec courses are taught in small groups with a focus on realistic, wreck-focused dives. You’ll find more detail on PADI Tec courses in Malta (open circuit).
Guided technical and CCR wreck dives in Malta
Already qualified and just want to dive serious wrecks with proper planning and support?
Typical guided diving uses Malta’s rich mix of 30–40 m wrecks through to deeper, advanced sites for suitable teams.

In addition to formal courses, Jason offers:
Servicing and technical support for Prism2 and Apeks
Keeping your kit in top condition is a big part of safe technical diving. As well as teaching, Jason is a qualified service technician for the Hollis Prism2 and Apeks regulators, so you have proper technical backup before, during and after your course.
For visiting divers, support can include:
If you’re travelling with your own Prism2 or a full Apeks regulator setup, mention this when you get in touch so time can be reserved if needed. You can ask about current servicing options via Contact Jason for a servicing quote.
- Pre-course Prism2 unit checks
- Apeks regulator servicing for backgas and bailout sets
- Post-course maintenance advice and practical help
- Troubleshooting and upgrade planning for your configuration
